Oculus Wines was established in 2019 with the purchase of a 20 year old vineyard at Borenore. The vineyard lies to the north of Mount Canobolas in the premium cool climate wine region of Orange. At 830 m, we have 11 grape varieties growing on volcanic soils with a breezy westerly aspect.

Our debut wine

‘Call me Kate’ 2020 is a field blend of Pinot Gris, Arneis and Sauvignon Blanc. It received a Bronze medal at the NSW Wine Show 2020.

Call Me Kate is Oculus Wines’ first vintage after a year of great adversity. Kate is a play on the name of our first son, after a birthday cake mix up at a local restaurant. We always wanted a girl!

Call Me Kate exhibits white peach, white flowers with a green apple note that reflect its mixed heritage, just like its namesake. It has a floral, stone fruit palate with a balanced sweetness that pairs well with spicy Asian food.
